When I rebooted after trying to install every version, Windows 10 reported that it needed to restart to finish installing HP 3D DriveGuard. HP 3D DriveGuard 7.0.2.1 rev A for Win 10 v1803 Installation starts but doesn't seem to complete, and I don't see any new or changed entry appear in Device Manager. (Supposedly all this one does is suppress the error message.) The HP 3D DriveGuard driver cannot install, the Accelerometer hardware is not present or supported on this unit. What happened when I tried the various DriveGuard update links on my HP 6470b: Install the update and see if the annoying error message still appears when you boot into Windows 10. Uninstall HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor from Device Manager – System Devices.ģ. Download the HD 3D DriveGuard update from the HP support page for your particular model of HP laptop.Ģ. Instructions that you'd normally follow and expect them to work:ġ. This accelerometer glitch may have been solved for the original poster's Pavilion X360, but it certainly isn't solved for all HP laptops. I followed their instructions, and then I restarted, and it finally stopped giving the error messsage on start up. So I found this link to give me the proper and only resolution that worked all day. That's one issue solved !īut after the restart I still got the HP Accelerometer Compatibility Assistant Error message again. This link identified the updated version I needed.Īfter updating the BIOS to the proper version & restarting my fan immediately stopped running constantly on it's own. Then I confirmed that even though I updated my BIOS through my HP App on my laptop it wasn't the most up to date version. I followed the instructions step by step to identify my model/serial # so I can find the appropriate BIOS update for my laptop. Which should solve contant fan running issues and should fix the HP Accelerometer Compatibility Assistant Error message I was getting. I wound up finding a suitable resolution for both my issues:įirst I found an article on how to properly update the Bios based on the type of laptop I have, specifically.
